PRIVACY NOTICE
Your data and choices
What this prototype stores
With your consent, CommunityConnect stores your name, email address, optional phone number, location, role, skills, availability, experience, and introduction. Help requests and connection statuses are also stored. Supabase Auth processes your email and password; the app does not store your password itself.
Why
These details are used to show profiles to people seeking help, compare potential matches, and manage requests. This is a hackathon prototype, not a legal determination of GDPR compliance.
Contact sharing
Email and phone details are shown only after both participants explicitly accept the connection. Do not include highly sensitive information in a request description.
AI processing and document images
Before text is sent to external AI or translation providers, common names, phone numbers, emails, and street addresses are masked. Placeholders are restored locally after a response.
Uploaded document images are sent to AMD AI only after separate consent and are never saved. Image contents are not automatically de-identified, so avoid real sensitive letters and use fake documents in demos.
Your choices
You can decline consent by not registering. While signed in, use “Delete your account and data” in your workspace to remove your Auth account, profile, requests, and associated connections. The demo database may contain synthetic profiles.
Security and limitations
Credentials are handled by Supabase Auth. Profile and request data are accessed by the Flask server using a server-side secret key. This prototype has no independent identity verification, data-retention schedule, or support process.
MyMemory's free translation service processes interface, profile, and request text when translation is needed. Text is sent by POST. Names and contact details are not sent. Anonymous usage is limited to 5,000 characters per day.
